'I had the privilege this evening to hear a fabulous sermon on Psalm 1 & 150. In it, the preacher directed us to consider the habits of the one who 'sits', 'walks', and 'stands' in reference to specific locations or points of focus; either in the realm of darkness or in the soil of God's Word. Depending upon where we place the 'roots' of our souls will determine or shape the desires of our hearts.
I was very convicted, but grateful for the Lord speaking to my heart and encouraging me to dig deep into His Word. It is a simple point, I know, but as I continue to grow older, I find that much of life's puzzles and answers are much simpler than my imagination or self-righteous intelligence will allow me to accept. So here it is: God wants us (me) to connect with Him. Actually, I am glad that He made this point simple, because behind it lies the sweet reality that God simply wants to be close to us; to know and be known.
